During the Ninth of Thermidor, Robespierre reported out to speak during the Convention. He proceeded to verbally attack many members of the Committee of Public Safety and Committee of General Security. After feeling threatened and fearing the loss of safety, some of the members of the National Convention proposed to utilize a precaution they had that could protect them against Robespierre. The proposed idea was passed, and Robespierre and several others were arrested. When the troops of the Paris Commune arrived, Robespierre was shot in the face, and his jaw was shattered.

This was an exceptionally important event for my character as the fall of Robespierre and the end of the Reign of Terror allowed Grace Elliot to avoid execution and was released from the prisons. Grace Elliot wrote many journals during these few months all documented on the internet.
